Gretsch G6128T Players Edition Jet DS Black
The Gretsch G6128T Players Edition Jet DS Bigsby Lotus Ivory combines the classic Gretsch singlecut design with traditional DynaSonic pickups and modern hardware to create the ideal electric guitar for blues and rock. In terms of construction, Gretsch uses a mahogany body with resonance chambers and laminated maple top, as well as a set mahogany neck in the comfortable "Standard U" profile. This electric guitar also features a modern Bigsby string-thru vibrato, an Adjusto-Matic bridge and Gotoh locking tuners.
Kept in the classic Gretsch singlecut design, the G6128T Players Edition Jet DS combines resonant sound characteristics with a high level of playability. Accordingly, the 1.85" thick mahogany body (47 mm) sits comfortably against the body, while the resonance chambers, sealed with a laminated maple top, promise a woody timbre in the sound. Furthermore, the set mahogany neck in "standard U" profile fits comfortably in the hand, so that every riff and lick can be realised with ease on the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
Gretsch chose two DynaSonic single-coils for the Gretsch G6128T Players Edition Jet DS Bigsby Lotus Ivory. As recreations of one of the original guitar pickups, they are naturally equipped with the characteristic height-adjustable pole-pieces. With a sparkling treble spectrum and tight bass foundation, these pickups deliver a powerful yet defined sound that is ideally suited to the clean and overdrive sounds of blues and rock. In addition to separate volume controls for each pickup and the typical master volume, the Gretsch Jet DS also features a no-load tone control with squeezebox paper in oil capacitors, which not only promises particularly harmonious treble roll-offs, but is also removed from the signal path when fully turned up, promising a direct sound.
Last but not least, the Gretsch G6128T Players Edition Jet DS Bigsby Lotus Ivory is rounded off by reliable hardware that is optimally matched to the needs of touring guitarists. A modern Bigsby string-thru vibrato serves as the tailpiece. While the classic operation promises dazzling melody and chord embellishments with the vibrato lever, the strings guided through the vibrato axis make string changes easier. A Gretsch Adjusto-Matic bridge promises optimal adjustment of intonation and string action, while Gotoh locking tuners on the headstock guarantee precise and stable tuning even with frequent use of the vibrato lever.
