The Music Man John Petrucci BFR 7 Ruby Flame is a Signature electric guitar from the Ball Family Reserve. It convinces with a particularly fine selection of materials and first-class sound experiences. Accordingly, the Music Man JP BFR 7 is constructed using an alder body with sound-shaping mahogany tone block, which is complemented by a bolt-on mahogany neck with a "D" profile and 24-fret rosewood fretboard. With DiMarzio Crunch Lab and Liquifire humbuckers, the Music Man John Petrucci BFR 7 delivers transparent prog metal sounds that precisely display every note. In addition, a piezo pickup system with active preamp is on board, which elicits authentic acoustic sounds from the electric guitar if desired. Last but not least, a Music Man JP Custom Tremolo and Schaller M6-IND locking tuners complete the Music Man John Petrucci BFR 7 Ruby Flame.
The John Petrucci BFR 7 Ruby Flame is built using first-class woods, which in combination promise a powerful sound image with a fast response. Accordingly, the alder body features a central tone block made of mahogany and an elegant flamed maple top with a lively pattern. The mahogany neck in a fast "D" profile is mounted onto the body with five screws and a contoured neck heel, so that the rosewood fretboard can be played unhindered up to the 24th frets.
The electrical sound conversion of the Music Man BFR 7 Ruby Flame is handled by DiMarzio Liquifire and Crunch Lab humbuckers, two pickups perfectly tailored to modern progressive metal, which deliver every note with harmonic precision in both the clean and distortion channels. In addition, this electric guitar is equipped with a piezo pickup system that expands the sound repertoire with authentic acoustic sounds. The active piezo preamp offers a 2-band EQ for adjusting the tone. Thanks to the mono and stereo output sockets, the signals from both pickups can also be output together or separately.
