The Music Man John Petrucci JP15 Teal Quilt marks the 15th anniversary of the collaboration between the New York guitar virtuoso and the company from San Luis Obispo, California. Accordingly, the electric guitar combines the incredible playing comfort and tonal versatility of the John Petrucci models with a whole series of noble details. This includes the African mahogany body with its chic maple top and the roasted maple neck. The amplifier features DiMarzio Illuminator pickups and the piezo pickup system for variable sounds, while the Music Man tremolo and Schaller Locking tuners offer unrestricted functionality.
The Roasted Maple neck of the JP15 is screwed five times to the mahogany body and offers a comfortable "D" profile.
The construction of the Music Man JP15 Teal Quilt is based on a particularly fine selection of wood. The body is made of carefully selected African mahogany and has a solid maple top, whose intense and even flame is perfectly accentuated by the transparent green finish. The fivefold bolted neck is made of Roasted Maple, which is insensitive to climate fluctuations due to the heat treatment in a vacuum. The "D" profile of the neck is provided with a non-slip wax/oil finish so that every tone emerges from the fingers as if lubricated between the 24 stainless steel frets.
Two DiMarzio Illuminator humbuckers together with the piezo elements in the bridge and the active preamp provide versatile sounds.
The Music Man John Petrucci JP15 Teal Quilt is particularly flexible in sound and delivers all the sounds the progressive metal head needs. Two DiMarzio Illuminator humbuckers convince with a multifaceted sound image, which skillfully implements tight rhythm sounds and expressive solo line, as well as clean pickings. In addition, the piezo pickup system provides authentic acoustic guitar sounds. The active Music Man custom preamp also offers an active gain boost of up to 20 dB, which can be used to free up additional gain and volume reserves if required, as well as trim controls for fine-tuning the piezo system.
Six Schaller M6-IND locking tuners guarantee precise tuning.
Last but not least, the Music Man John Petrucci JP15 Teal Quilt features high-quality hardware from Music Man and Schaller. The Music Man John Petrucci Custom Tremolo serves as a bridge on the body, with piezo elements built into its string riders. It convinces with a particularly smooth handling, which makes virtuoso Whammy Bar inserts a child's game. At the headstock, the strings are also guided via the compensated Music Man saddle to the precise Schaller M6-IND locking tuners.
