The Starclassic Performer B/B PR52TLBNS-CCL Shell-Set from Tama in the limited Finish Charocal Swirl (CCL) offers professional conditions for use in the studio and on stage. The exclusive material composition of birch and bubinga creates a sound that is crisp and articulate, but has an additional massive bass part. The Starclassic shell hardware is of the highest quality. Free-swinging suspensions, cast hoops and padded floor-tom legs make the Tama Starclassic Perfomer B/B one of the most sought-after all-rounder drum sets ever, as it is equally suitable for long tours and filigree studio work.
The shells of the Tama Starclassic Perfomer B/B PR52TLBNS-CCL shell set are made of 4 layers of birch wood with 3 inner layers of bubinga and thus come to a total thickness of 6 mm (bass drum = 5 + 3; 8 mm). Thanks to the Star-Cast Mounting System, the Tom Toms are mounted in a free-swinging manner and can thus unfold their full sound potential. And what the suspension is for the tom-toms, the feet are for the floor-tom: these are padded so that the shell can resonate unhindered.
Both the Tom Toms and the Floor Tom are fitted with cast hoops. These not only influence the tuning behavior of a drum, but also have a stronger influence on the sound than a flanged steel hoop. The bass drum claws of the Tama Performer Drums have rubber pads that protect the hoop and improve the resonance characteristics of the bass drum. The pads are firmly attached to the claws and cannot rattle or even fall off. The heads come from the G2 and EQ4 series from Evans, so that nothing stands in the way of immediate playing fun.
