Avid presents the Avid S1, a Eucon-based DAW controller for Avid Pro Tools / Pro Tools Ultimate and Media Composer, which integrates perfectly with an iPad. It offers a total of eight channel strips with motorised, touch-sensitive 100 mm faders for comfortable mixing, eight touch-sensitive push-button controls, as well as eight high-resolution OLED displays and status LEDs. In addition , there are numerous soft keys and dedicated switches to shift the focus away from the screen and onto the practical and more efficient control console. Furthermore, up to four S1 controllers plus a Pro Tools Dock can be cascaded, allowing you to expand your setup at any time – perfect for studios of any size.
Naturally, the Avid S1 DAW controller also provides native support for third-party audio and video applications such as Apple Logic Pro, Steinberg Cubase and Nuendo, , Adobe Premiere, Magix, Pyramix and others.
Get direct access to monitor channels, DCA groups s and user-defined processes using the 8 motorised faders. 8 buttons at the bottom of the controller switch between the fader and potentiometer assignments. Using the ‘Inserts’, ‘EQ’, ‘Dynamics’ and ‘AUX’ buttons, or directly via the touchscreen of a docked tablet, you can quickly switch to the relevant task areas. You can even write automation sequences. This means the Avid S1 DAW controller goes far beyond the functionality of a standard MIDI-based controller!
Thanks to its sophisticated and in-depth DAW integration, the S1 instantly jumps to the corresponding channel strip when a track is selected on screen, clearly displaying loaded plug-ins, the EQ curve, gain reduction, panning and more in high resolution.
