With the Ibanez Standard RGA742FM-TGF Transparent Grey Flat, Ibanez presents a 7-string electric guitar for rock and metal that is sure to impress with its trendy finish, high playing comfort and versatile sounds. The electric guitar features a mahogany body, which not only boasts a stylish maple top but also, thanks to its wide cutaways, allows unobstructed access to all frets of the ‘Wizard III’ neck. When plugged in, Ibanez Quantum humbuckers deliver nuanced rock and metal tones, whilst high-quality hardware ensures long-lasting playing pleasure.
The Ibanez Standard RGA742FM skilfully combines a stylish look with contemporary playing comfort. The slim mahogany body features a curly maple top, whose intense figure is accentuated by the transparent sunburst finish. The wide cutaways also allow unobstructed access to the higher frets of the bolt-on maple neck, which features the extremely fast ‘Wizard III’ profile, providing the ideal foundation for complex riffs and virtuoso solos across all seven strings.
The Ibanez Standard RGA742FM-TGF Transparent Grey Flat is fitted with two Ibanez Quantum humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions. Equipped with powerful ceramic magnets, these pickups deliver nuanced sounds for modern rock and metal that retain their definition even on the low B string. The bridge humbucker impresses with its aggressive sound, which cuts through the band’s sound with a laser-sharp mid-range, whilst the neck pickup lets every note sing with smooth sustain. The pickups are controlled via a 3-way blade switch, as well as master volume and master tone controls.
High-quality hardware, guaranteeing unrestricted playing pleasure, completes the Ibanez Standard RGA742FM. The body is fitted with the Ibanez Fixed Bridge, which supports a fast attack thanks to the strings being routed through the body. Seven individually adjustable saddles also ensure perfectly tuned intonation and a comfortable string action. From the bridge, the strings run towards the headstock with a 25.5" scale length (648 mm), where Ibanez tuning machines ensure precise and stable tuning of the electric guitar.
Ibanez Standard RGA742FM-TGF Transparent Gray FlatThe guitar is well built as expected from Ibanez, i tried a few models and decided on an RGA, mostly because i like the arch top, i dont like the hard edges of the RG models and while the body shape of the S series fits me well and the hardwars is much the same , the S series guitars are super thin.....
This particular guitar i had to return as there is a tiny dent on the neck by the first fret but there models are mass produced so somtimes a few small imperfections slip through the net.....
i must say the guitar was very well 'set up' and played great out of the box.
To be honest i have not plugged it into an amp as i am returning it so didn't wan't to remove the plastic covering the pickups so i cannot review the sound but i gave 5 stars anyway because it's an Ibanez!
There is one small 'smudge' on the front so i gave 4 stars for 'optic'....
The guitar is well made and other than the tiny dent on the neck
