Fixate:Midrange is a specialized midrange EQ that starts exactly where most problems arise in many productions: in the mids. Mud, thinness, honk, nasal parts, harshness or an unbalanced spectrum can quickly make mixes sound tiring, cheap or unfocused. This is exactly where the plug-in comes in with a clear approach: analyze, correct, balance. Instead of tedious troubleshooting, you get a tool that quickly and musically works on the typical problem areas in the most important frequency range of the mix.

Technically, Fixate:Midrange works with a model that is based on human perception. The mid-range is divided into critical bands, i.e. precisely those frequency ranges in which the ear perceives correlations, resonances and masking particularly strongly. This is one of the reasons why the plug-in often detects problems where classic analyzers show activity but do not provide any real musical decision support.
