The SPL BiG [STUDIO] redefines the term "stereo width". This innovative 19" studio tool expands the stereo image in a spectacular way and opens up new creative possibilities for sound design. With its new tube circuitry and precise tube harmonics control, BiG [STUDIO] enhances the overtone spectrum of any signal - for more depth, brilliance and a sense of space.
The result: a mix that sounds livelier, more detailed and simply Bigger than Life.
Analog magic for modern production
BiG [STUDIO] works with an analog difference signal that is processed through a special filter network and mixed back into the original signal. The result is not an M/S signal, but a completely new form of stereo processing that remains phase-coherent and mono-compatible - without cancelation or artifacts.
Intuitive sound control with three main controls
Range determines the frequency range that is processed.
Bigness controls the intensity of the stereo widening.
Stage moves the selected frequency range to the front or rear of the stereo stage.
The sound image can be shaped intuitively with just three controls - from subtle spatiality to impressive width.
Tube sound and SPL-style bass amplification
The Tube Harmonics circuit adds selectable harmonic overtones for a warm, musical tone coloration. The Harmonics switchactivates the tube, while the Bass switch provides an additional 2 dB bass boost at 42 Hz - inspired by the AirBass circuit of the SPL IRON Mastering Compressor.

With a 4 mm thick, black anodized aluminium front, solid metal rotary knobs and a powder-coated steel housing, the BiG [STUDIO] stands for uncompromising quality. Manufactured in Niederkrüchten on the Lower Rhine, SPL guarantees the highest sound quality, durability and precision.
