Description

The all-rounder in Relic finish

With the Jazz Bass in 1960, Leo Fender introduced the second electric bass he had developed, which, like the Precision published nine years earlier, was to have a decisive influence on the music world. With its two single coils and focused sound, the Jazz Bass was quickly considered the first choice for bassists who wanted to move away from the purely accompanying role in the band context and act more in the foreground. In the hands of musicians such as Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee , Stuart Hamm or Victor Bailey, jazz bass was involved in the creation of legendary sounds of the most diverse genres, from disco, funk and reggae, to jazz and blues, to rock and Heavey Metal.

With the 1962 Jazz Bass Relic Teal Green Metallic, the Fender Custom Shop pays its personal tribute to this versatile legend. Equipped with two hand-wound Custom Shop single coils, the bass delivers a wide range of assertive sounds, from warm low-end thrust on the neck to transparent sound on the bridge.

Due to the two-piece body made of light ash, the Fender Custom Shop 1962 Jazz Bass hangs extremely comfortably on the strap, while the narrow neck with its U profile, typical for a Jazz Bass, lies full and comfortably in the hand. The relic finish in bright Teal Green Metallic in combination with the Toirtoise pickguard gives the bass the authentic Vintage Look look of the 1960s.
