The Rode NT5 MP Stereo Set is one of RØDE's best-selling products for a reason. For an amazingly low price you get a selected and perfectly matched pair of microphones that are not only excellent for X/Y miking.
The elastically mounted capsule in combination with the high-quality components on the SMD board guarantees highest transmission quality and pulse fidelity. The frequency range of the NT5 spans from a full 20Hz to 20,000Hz , and the narrow cardioid polar pattern and the optionally available NT45-O spherical capsule extend its range of applications enormously.
There are many possible applications: the NT5 is ideal for string or choir recordings and as overheads . Due to the high sound pressure level limit (143 dB) , NT5s are also frequently used for PA applications. Individually, the NT5S fulfils all the requirements of a good small-diaphragm microphone in a classic design, namely a crystal-clear and balanced sound for snare and/or hihat , for woodwinds of all kinds as well as acoustic stringed instruments and percussion .
The interchangeable capsule NT45-O with omnidirectional polar pattern is optionally available to match the NT5.
Alternatively to the NT5 MP, there is also a single version of the NT5 available.
I really like these mics. Especially it sounds good in the LIVE performances. One minus: pop filter catches the wind. So, I am thinking to buy dead cat.
Watch my videos, please.
Here you can listen LIVE guitar and accordion. Also, you can listen sounds of nature!
Bought Rode NT5 since attracted a price, and the positive reviews on the Internet! Very happy with the quality of service and the quality of the equipment! If you want to record an acoustic instrument, it is only Rode NT5! Price matches the quality!
I will agree with the rest about quality regarding acoustic instruments but i have to say they are magic for stereo field recording too, they capture everything.
I love these microphones and will be using them a lot outside.
These are really great mics for the price. Ive got several other pencil mic stereo sets and these are VERY close to a matched pair of Neumann KM184s I use all the time for drums room mics. Ive got some AKG 451s too, and Id say that the RØDEs are a bit warmer for lack of a better word. Highly recommended if youre on a budget!
