The Neumann KH 805 II is a reference-quality DSP-controlled subwoofer designed for music, broadcast and post-production studios. With a bass response down to 16 Hz, it delivers deep, powerful sound with impressive precision. This makes it the ideal complement for medium-sized studio monitors in the Neumann KH series and ensures maximum transparency in the low-end range.
Compared to its predecessor, the KH 805 II offers increased acoustic performance and new features. The newly developed 10" long excursion driver with ELFF™ technology (Extremely Linear
The subwoofer has analog XLR inputs and outputs as well as a digital BNC input that supports AES3 and S/P-DIF signals up to 192 kHz / 24 bit. Thanks to the integrated 2.0/0.1 bass management, the KH 805 II versatile can be integrated into stereo, surround or immersive setups. Four different routing modes (stereo 80 Hz, external bass management, LFE up to 120 Hz or LFE full range) also guarantee maximum flexibility in everyday studio use.
The KH 805 II offers extensive control options for optimum adaptation to different rooms and setups: An adjustable low cut filter at 30 Hz, which can be lowered continuously from 0 to -12 dB, ensures the targeted reduction of unwanted low bass components. In addition, a gain control for adjusting the subwoofer level and an eight-stage phase adjustment are available for perfect integration with the main monitors. In combination with the flexible bass management, this ensures precise and controlled bass reproduction.
Thanks to its DSP control, the KH 805 II is fully compatible with the Neumann MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment (sold separately). This system enables precise calibration of the entire loudspeaker system - including analogue KH line monitors - and optimizes frequency response and
The housing of the KH 805 II consists of an extremely rigid wooden construction with a resonance-optimized bass reflex design. Integrated rubber feet ensure acoustic decoupling, while a sturdy metal grille protects the driver from damage. The result is precise and controlled bass reproduction without annoying background noise.
The KH 805 II is equipped with a comprehensive protection system for maximum operational safety. A peak limiter prevents overloads during high signal peaks, while a thermal limiter reliably protects the woofer, power supply unit and amplifier from overheating. This is supplemented by a soft clip limiter, which ensures low-distortion output even at extreme excursions and increases the service life of the system. In addition, the subwoofer has an auto standby function that reduces energy consumption by automatically switching the device to energy-saving sleep mode when it is inactive for long periods. If desired, this function can be deactivated via a switch on the back.
