The Rycote Super-Shield Kit, Large is a comprehensive windshield and shock mount system for directional microphones with a length of 250 to 300 mm.
The Super-Shield suspension uses patented Lyre technology to effectively isolate the microphone from shock and vibration. The Lyre reduces handling noise on all axial microphones without the use of rubbers or elastics and is considered the industry standard in broadcasting. The suspension is suitable for microphones with a shaft diameter of 19 mm to 25 mm and uses two snap-in lyre mounts that can be adjusted to six positions for perfect balance and fit.
The Super Shield wind shield consists of two "pods" that are fixed to the central chassis. The lightweight, durable baskets are made of flexible gray plastic mesh with a shielding material. The windscreen has a twist-lock system on the suspension ring and, when fully assembled, encloses the entire microphone, connector and suspension. This system creates a quiet air volume around the microphone, which enables a reduction in wind noise with minimal loss of high frequencies.
The Windjammer is a high-quality synthetic fur cover that provides excellent protection against extreme wind noise. The Super-Shield Windjammer is handmade in the UK from the finest materials available, designed and manufactured specifically for this purpose. As a result, the audio quality, especially in the high-frequency range, is hardly affected.
