Digital Multi-Head Delay with Octave Effect and Modulation

The Solid Gold FX EM-III is the third incarnation of the popular Echoman Delay effect from Montreal, Canada. As a multi-head octave echo, the EM-III not only delivers the authentically recreated, rhythmic sounds of a tape echo with multiple playback heads, but also a suboctave and modulation effect for the echoes.

Multi-Head Delay with Suboctave

At the heart of Solid Gold FX's EM-III is an authentic simulation of a multi-head delay that not only delivers traditional echoes, but also provides a rhythmic feel through multiple play back heads. Clicking the central Heads/Octave switch to the left adds up to three virtual playback heads to the effect, while clicking to the right activates the Suboctave effect to make the echoes seem more powerful. The Time and Repeat controls adjust the delay time and number of echoes as usual. You also have the option of setting the delay time using the Tap Tempo footswitch. The Color knob, on the other hand, colors the echoes darker or brighter from the neutral center position.

Flutter, Warp and Glitch

The Flutter knob adds a modulation effect to the EM-III's echoes that mimics the typical characteristics of a tape echo. The center position corresponds to a bypass, while turning it to the right or left determines the depth of a slow or fast modulation setting, respectively. furthermore, the Solid Gold FX EM-III offers a Warp mode that instantly sets the pedal into self-oscillation, and a Glitch mode that creates charming errors in the echoes.
