About Sennheiser

Sennheiser produces primarily for the music industry, aviation and the entertainment industry. Sennheiser also manufactures consumer electronics for private customers. The company's first independently developed microphone was the MD2, which they presented to the market in 1947. The first shotgun microphone followed in 1956. A year later, Sennheiser produced 100 different types of products. In 1968, the world's first open headphones appeared, heralding the success story of Sennheiser headphones. Infrared transmission technology followed in the seventies and multi-channel wireless transmission in the eighties. In the early 90s, Sennheiser produced a limited edition of the famous Sennheiser Orpheus - a handmade, electrostatic headphone, directly driven by a tube amplifier - which is considered the most expensive headphone in the world.

Sennheiser - Innovation for the audio segment

Sennheiser stands for innovative strength and the highest quality and has received numerous patents and awards. These include two innovation prizes from German industry, the Scientific and Engineering Award, Emmy and Grammy. The consistent further development of technologies in acoustics and electronics is the key to expanding Sennheiser's strong market position.
