The Arturia KeyStep Pro is a successful combination of Arturia’s iconic KeyStep and BeatStep Pro controllers. A 37-key velocity-sensitive keyboard, which also features aftertouch, is the primary means of playing melodies, basslines and drum triggers. The TR grid can also be used here to place your beats precisely. Four tracks can be played simultaneously, sending their notes and commands to a total of two MIDI ports, eight drum triggers and four CV/Gate/Velocity outputs. The control voltage outputs of the Arturia KeyStep Pro can be linked together, making it possible to play a rich modular system in four-part polyphony. Of course, polyphony is also output via MIDI. The analogue clock/reset inputs and outputs can be used, for example, to synchronise a pre-MIDI-era drum machine, a Teenage Pocket Operator or the sequencer of a modular system. The Arturia KeyStep Pro’s built-in metronome is output as an audio signal and can be conveniently monitored via the mixer or a pair of headphones. An arpeggiator and a randomisation function provide a useful complement to this controller, which is optimised with a focus on live performance and direct access.
Arturia KeyStep ProUsing this as a (just about!) mini keyboard into my Mac with Logic and iPad, as well as a modular setup. It’s a lot of fun to use and I’m now getting it into muscle memory and it’s becoming a serious device that I can’t do without. Great solid quality and value for money.
I'm using it for a year now and I like it very much.
The connectivity is just amazing, every output can be individually setup via the software. V/Hz for my MS-20, has of course eurorack setting and also Buchla 12v.
Has also v-trig and s-trig.
I use it to sequence my pulsar-23, ms-20, minilogue, Vermona DRM mk3.
It has only 2 midi out but I use a Kenton MIDI Thru 5 and it's perfect.
Midi out 2 can now be setup as a MIDI Thru.
The workflow is a first a bit weird to decipher, but after watching a couple of tutorials, it's pretty easy to use.
I would recommend to use the software to setup MIDI channel, CV output style and trig. It's doable using the tiny screen but rather annoying.
The build quality is pretty good, it's not build like a tank though.
Pretty funny arpeggio and sequencer randomization.

Cons:
_No micro steps for ratchets.
_it's pretty ugly.
_could not get negative voltage from the mod touch-wheel.
