These are the Nickel-plated roundwound strings from a manufacturer mostly know for their Stainless Steel strings. When I first put them on my Fender Precision bass they were ok sounding, not to bright, not too dull either. There are other nickel sets with more zing out of the box. But the major con for me is that they die rather fast! After 10-12 days they were muddy sounding. I havent tried the Rotosound SS set (that one may be better, I dont know), but I would not recommend this nickel set to anyone searching for a medium/long lasting set, or rather bright strings that keep their zing for some time. In my experience Daddarios live twice/3 times as long, and the DRs live forever (best strings out there imho). They do have a nice feel under the fingers though!
