The Fender Custom Shop Fender 20th Anniversary Relic Stratocaster Faded 2-Tone Sunburst celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Relic series. Equipped with an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, this electric guitar follows the specifications from the mid 1950s and delivers classic Vintage sounds thanks to three Single coils. At the same time, the authentic Relic finish conveys the feel and look of a guitar from the original period of the electric guitar.
The elaborate Relic finish includes authentically reproduced traces of play, including the cigarette burn on the headstock.
The Fender 20th Anniversary Relic Stratocaster 's lightweight ash body and one-piece maple neck meet the specifications of a Strat mid-1950s golden neck. The powerful "10/56 V" profile lies firmly in the hand and conveys a high level of playing comfort. Three hand-wound Custom Shop Fat '50s Single coils are used as pickups on the Fender 20th Anniversary Relic Stratocaster 2-Tone Sunburst . With their staggered Alnico V magnets, these single-coil pickups deliver the legendary, bell-like, clear Strat sound, but have a richer bass range that gives the sound more substance, especially with distorted sounds. Accordingly this Stratocaster one is a true all-rounder, who is no stranger to any genre from clean country to bluesy Overdrive to juicy Rock zerre. Thanks to the oppositely wound and polarized midrange pickup, the intermediate positions of the 5-way switch are hum-free.
The Relic finish also includes belt buckle scrapers and the naked back of the neck.
Instruments of the Fender Custom Shop Relic series were presented for the first time at the NAMM Show 1995. Exhibited in well-secured glass showcases, the electric guitars were initially considered by all visitors to be originals from the golden era of guitar building. When it became clear that the Custom Shop team had reproduced the Look feel and sound of these rare instruments with a new guitar, the instruments of the Relic series quickly developed into self-running and the most popular products in the range of the American traditional manufacturer.
