Low-frequency resonances are one of the most common problems in studios, home theaters and hi-fi rooms. The HOFA Basstrap 52 was developed to specifically absorb these critical frequency ranges and make the room sound more controlled. Placed in room corners in particular, it reduces annoying bass booming and significantly improves the definition in the low bass range.
Thanks to its compact height, the Basstrap is particularly suitable for smaller rooms or flexible acoustic setups where individual problem areas need to be treated in a targeted manner.
The HOFA Basstrap 52 achieves its strongest absorption effect below 200 Hz. If several elements are combined next to each other or on top of each other in the corners of the room, the effect can be further increased in the range below 80 Hz. This can also significantly reduce pronounced room modes and standing waves.
A specially developed mixture of various renewable natural fibers is used inside. The length-related flow resistance of the filling has been specifically tuned to absorb low frequencies. As a result, the Basstrap 104 reacts effectively where many conventional acoustic elements reach their limits.
The airtight construction is held in place by a stabilizing wire frame and covered with a robust polyester fabric cover. The cover and base are made of multiplex wood and give the Basstrap its robust construction and high-quality appearance.
The Basstrap also meets important safety requirements for use in studios and event rooms. The materials have been tested in accordance with EN ISO 119252:2010 with fire protection class B2 and EN 13501-1:2007 with class E.
