The Behringer BDI21 V-TONE BASS Bass Amp Modeler/Direct Recording Preamp/DI Box. Bass amp modeling, direct-recording preamp and DI box all rolled into one.
The Behringer BDI21 V-TONE BASS gives you big vintage tube tones, funky slap sounds, crunchy distortions and everything in-between. You get a truckload of great amp simulators in a single stomp boxfrom, traditional bass amps to modern overdriven amp tones that would typically require a multitude of effects units. Authentic tube emulation circuitry can be mixed with the direct bass signal via blend control. Use presence control for definition and upper harmonics or rely on an ultra-musical 2-band EQ specifically tuned for bass guitars. Use the BDI21 either for direct recording output with tube emulation or as a standard active direct injection box in bypass mode. The output is laid out on 1/4 inch jack or balanced, gold-plated XLR connectors. A ground lift switch eliminates typical ground loop problems, and it runs on a 9 V battery or a DC power supply (not included).
The main features of the Behringer BDI21 V-TONE BASS include:
Top sound from such an inexpensive DI box. I had read the reviews before buying and can confirm that it is as good as reported by the others and more! Love playing my bass with it, it's like a whole new instrument!
It softens and flattens the sound of my bass over the 'net, (JamKazam) which is the only way any of us can play at the moment, so this helps.
Gets the basic job done, range of controls is more than acceptable for the price. Susceptible to EM radiation, at lease when using the unbalanced output.
