Audionamix presents XTRAX Stems 2, an impressive software for extracting stems from a song. The program runs under Windwos and Mac OS and automatically splits mono and stereo files into vocals, drums and music stems, which can then be exported as separate WAV files or in NI Stems format. This results in interesting possibilities: changing volume levels / volume ratios later on, editing vocals with effects later on, using extracted lead vocals with other playbacks, muting drums to add your own new beats, and so on. All you need is a fast Internet connection, as the analysis and decomposition of a song takes place on the Audionamix server. The special: Audionamix uses self-learning AI-based algorithms, which continuously improve the quality and accuracy of the extraction.

Three modes, three applications

• When using the Advanced mode, all detected vocal parts are assigned to the Vocals Stem, including any backing vocals, harmonies, choirs, etc.
• The Generic HQ mode detects general melody parts and is primarily suitable for extracting solo or monophonic instruments. This could be, for example, a saxophone solo, which is then placed separately on the vocals stem for further processing or muting.
• If you want to mute or replace the lead vocals, but want to keep the backing vocals, the Automatic HQ mode is recommended. The leads are specifically recognized, while the backing vocals are assigned to the MUSIC Stem.

Other features include a counter, play/pause, return-to-zero and loop buttons, level meters per stem, volume control, solo and mute buttons. The control panel is rounded off by a sum level display and master fader, as well as a balance triangle, which allows the volume ratios of the three generated stems to be changed simultaneously with the mouse.
