The Behringer X-LIVE is an X32 expansion card for 32-channel live recording/playback on SD/SDHC cards and USB audio/MIDI interface. When using two SD cards simultaneously, up to 3 hours of audio material can be recorded and stored in 48 kHz/32-bit PCM from 32 channels.
It offers the possibility of multichannel recordings without computer connection, virtual sound checks, and live backing track playback - the X-Live expansion card opens up entirely new application possibilities.
First of all, Music Store were the best price for this x-live card and also one of the few that had one in stock immediately. The order process is simple and the delivery was quick.
To the x-live card itself. Installation is very simple and if you follow Drew Bashler's YouTube video on installation, firmware update and routing setup then you really can't go wrong. The card doesn't come with the battery so remember to order one at the same time, and also it doesn't come with a 32gb SD type 10 card either. It takes 2 of those. Remember also that you can configure the card to record 8, 16 or 32 channels and the record time available reduces with more channels, obviously. The other thing is that you can still use the USB recorder/player at the same time but be sure to follow Drew's instruction for setting that up - again its not hard.
One other thing, I found that my DAW doesn't recognize the single multi-channel WAV file so you have to 'unpack' it. There is free software available that works perfectly from here https://forum.musictri.be/showthread.php?21170-X-Live-file-extractor
This is a great card and I'm getting another for my other x32 core from this store.
