The Quadrantid Swarm Module from EoWave is attracting attention as a new Eurorack synth voice with an unusual design and exciting features. At the heart of the sound is a digital triangle oscillator with wave spreading. A percussive sound element and noise can be mixed in. The generated spectrum is processed by Filter 1, which can operate in either 12 dB low-pass or high-pass mode, and Filter 2, which is designed solely as a low-pass filter.
Dynamic range is achieved via an A/D (Attack/Decay) envelope, as well as an LFO with eight waveforms; final level control is handled by a VCA. The icing on the cake is the built-in, genuine analogue spring reverb at the end of the signal path. The eight gold-plated pads are used to access additional functions, allowing the Quadrantid Swarm to be played in mono or polyphonic mode, and providing access to the 8-step sequencer. The module is ideal for generic and experimental music. The numerous CV and Gate connections invite you to create more complex patches. If required, the module can be played and synchronised via MIDI using an adapter cable.
