Hardly any other guitar model embodies the early sixties as authentically as the Fender '60 Telecaster Custom JRN RW Charcoal Frost Metallic #R144004. Built to classic specifications, the instrument from the FenderCustom store in Corona, California offers a first-class tonewood selection and true-to-original hardware parts from the early sixties, while two hand-wound single coils come as close as possible to the sound of the original sixties Tele Custom. Naturally, Fender '60 Telecaster Custom JRN RW Charcoal Frost Metallic, an offshoot of the FenderCustom store, comes with a matching hardshell Case and a signed certificate of authenticity confirming the authenticity of this model.
The Fender '60 Telecaster Custom JRN RW Charcoal Frost Metallic #R144004 combines high-quality woods, authentic parts and first-class sounds.
Double-bound alder body
As already seen on the original, the Fender '60 Telecaster Custom JRN RW Charcoal Frost Metallic features a two-piece body made of alder, which is finished with all-round white Bindings on the top and bottom of the body and forms a successful contrast to the Charcoal Frost Metallic Journeyman finish with fine nitro lacquer cracks. Another highlight is the screw-on neck made from roasted maple. Thanks to the oval C-profile in the style of the early sixties in combination with the 7.25" radius of the rosewood fingerboard, this ensures a familiar playing feel from headstock to neck foot.
Hand-wound Custom Shop '63 Tele single coils
In order to access the full tuning range of the classic '60s Tele Custom, Fender has analyzed numerous original pickups of the era and used historically correct materials and winding techniques. The result is the two Custom Shop Hand-Wound '63 Tele single coils in the neck and bridge position, which not only produce an ideally tuned Set when switched together, but also skillfully reproduce every conceivable characteristic on their own, from the lively 'Tele twang' to the untamed growl of the neck pickup. Both pickups are controlled via a classic sixties wiring with a 3-way pickup selector switch as well as a common volume control and a treble control for musical Treble roll-offs.
