Thanks to a wide Cutaways and a smooth transition to the mahogany body wings, the full-length, three-piece maple neck can be played unhindered up to the highest registers. The pleasantly flat "Thin and Profile" and the silky satin finish on the back of the neck promise first-class handling for trouble-free riffing and solos on the 24-fret ebony fingerboard. Seymour Duncan '59/Custom Hybrid and Jazz humbuckers combine with the straightforward circuitry to deliver top-notch rock and metal tones.

To elicit adequate rock and metal tones with modern tightness and punch from the guitar amps, the E-II Horizon NT FM Dark Brown Sunburst relies on Seymour Duncan humbuckers. In bridge position, the Seymour Duncan '59/Custom Hybrid Alnico-V humbucker promises a coherent metal sound with a perfect balance of tight bass foundation, enormous midrange presence and silky treble sparkle, presenting every note with sharp contour and rich punch even at drop tunings and high gain. The harmonic counterpart to the powerful bridge pickup is the Seymour Duncan Jazz humbucker in neck position, whose emphatically brilliant, yet full sound is best suited for clean Pickings and singing solo playing. The pickup of the electric guitar is controlled straightforwardly by means of a 3-way switch, master volume and a treble control.
