The HOFA Diffusor Natural ensures an even dispersion of reflections in the mid and upper-mid ranges, thereby supporting precise room acoustics in recording studios, control rooms, home cinemas or high-quality hi-fi setups. Rather than simply absorbing sound energy, the diffuser distributes incident sound waves in a controlled manner throughout the room. The result is a more natural, open sound with greater depth and spatiality.
Particularly during mixing, mastering or critical listening, controlled diffusion helps to reduce harsh reflections and flutter echoes without making the room sound ‘dead’. Vocals, instruments and transients remain lively and clearly localisable.
The HOFA Diffuser Natural is based on the tried-and-tested QRD principle of a 2D Schröder diffuser and has been specially developed for effective sound diffusion in the range from approximately 700 Hz to 2200 Hz. The chambers of varying depths create targeted time differences, which distribute reflections widely throughout the room. The diffuser is made from untreated birch plywood.
Four HOFA diffusers can be combined to form a large QRD diffuser. This further increases the effectiveness of sound diffusion. Particularly in larger control rooms or demanding listening environments, this creates an even more homogeneous diffusion field.
Thanks to its integrated mounting system, the HOFA diffuser can be easily mounted on the wall. With its compact dimensions of 50 cm x 50 cm x 11 cm, it is suitable for both smaller home studios and larger professional acoustic solutions.
Furthermore, the diffuser is ideally suited for use in the HOFA interchangeable frame. This allows it to be flexibly combined with absorbers or bass traps to tailor the room acoustics specifically to different applications and listening situations.
