The Fame Custom Handpan Chinese Silver D-Kurd is an elegant steel handpan with a matte silver finish and twelve carefully tuned notes. It produces a balanced and powerful tone at 440 Hz. Played with the fingers by striking its individually tuned tone fields, the handpan measures 22 inches or 55 centimeters in diameter, making it comfortable to play on the lap. The D-Kurd scale on this Fame handpan includes the notes D3, A3, Bb3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4, C5, D5, and F5. Unlike other Fame Custom handpans, this model has no bottom notes – all tones are located on the top surface – allowing for a more creative playing style. Its meditative and calming sound is suitable for both therapeutic use and meditation. A protective bag is included with the instrument.
The central fundamental tone lies in the middle of the handpan, surrounded by a circle of tone fields. Each playing surface is shaped under tension and hand-tuned to 440 Hz. When struck lightly with a finger, the entire handpan vibrates, producing a smooth, spherical tone with a singing sustain.
Every Fame handpan undergoes thorough inspection for craftsmanship and sound quality by experienced handpan experts at the production facility. Since these instruments are handmade, slight color variations from the product images may occur.
