Mesa Boogie JP-2C 1x12 Combo in video:
Electric guitar combo with 100 watts of power, three channels and 2 graphic equalizers
After more than 30 years of successful collaboration, Mesa Boogie and Dream Theater string wizard John Petrucci decided to develop a signature amplifier together. The result is the Mesa Boogie JP-2C 1x12, a tube combo based on Petrucci's favorite Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+, which more than meets his high demands with 100 watts of power, three channels and two graphic equalizers.
The Mesa Boogie JP-2C offers three independent channels and two 5-band graphic equalizers that can be individually assigned to each channel.
Three channels, two equalizers
With three channels, the Mesa Boogie JP-2C John Petrucci Signature Combo covers a wide sound spectrum between glassy clean, creamy Overdrive and modern high gain Distortion, with each channel being perfectly adjustable via an individual tone control. Furthermore, the "Shred" mode can be activated for channels 2 and 3, which significantly increases the assertiveness with accentuated treble and emphasized Attack. Another special feature of the Mesa Boogie JP-2C are the two graphic 5-band equalizers, which can be individually assigned to each channel and significantly increase the tonal variability.
Tube-driven spring reverb and effects loop, MIDI
In addition, the Mesa Boogie JP-2C Combo offers an integrated reverb effect based on a tube-driven spring reverb system with a long reverb spiral, providing a warm, particularly spatial sound. The reverb effect can be adjusted individually for each of the three channels via three controls on the rear of the aluminum amplifier chassis. Additional effects units can also be connected to the amplifier via the tube-driven, serial effects path. All functions of the Mesa Boogie JP-2C can be controlled either via the included footswitch or MIDI.
The Mesa Boogie JP-2C has an integrated CabClone DI box and can be controlled via MIDI.
100 watts and CabClone DI
The power amplifier of the Mesa Boogie JP-2C is equipped with four 6L6 tubes and delivers 100 watts, which can be reduced to 60 watts if required. Accordingly, the compact combo has sufficient volume reserves for the rehearsal room or the big stage. Furthermore, the John Petrucci amplifier is equipped with the Mesa Boogie CabClone DI box which, thanks to speaker simulation with voicing options, makes it much easier to pick up the amplifier in the studio or at gigs. Thanks to CabClone, the Mesa JP-2C also offers the option of muting the speaker and connecting headphones for silent practicing or recording.
