The Sennheiser HD 490 Pros are a huge upgrade from my Sennheiser HD 280 Pros. The soundstage is huge, wide, and colourful. The HD 490 Pro's made my 280 HD Pros feel mono in comparison! Super dynamic and clear frequencies over the whole frequency spectrum. Listening to my previous mixes, I was able to instantly notice parts of my mix that I didn't notice before.
The fit of the headphones was extremely comfortable. Much more comfortable than my HD 280 Pros - the ear cups are bigger, with much more padding. It encompassed my whole ear, with nothing rubbing. (I have big sticking-out ears, by the way). The headphones did not press against my temples or head either.
The replaceable ear pads are also a great idea. You do notice a bit of a difference in sound! The fabric ones are brighter, and slightly clearer in the high end. A bit less bass too.
I truly recommend this headphone as an upgrade from a more budget headphone, and if you are looking to go more professional with music.
