Dry EZX focuses on drums without reverb tails and without coloration. Everything is deliberately recorded tight, controlled and direct, as if you were standing next to the kit. The recordings were made in a small, heavily muffled room with a low ceiling. This is exactly what makes for this focused sound, which is immediately captured in the Mix without taking up any space. Perfect for productions where clarity, punch and proximity are more important than size.

Four kits, many characters

The included drum kits cover a wide range. From warm and earthy to crisp and slightly biting, everything is included. Despite the extremely dry approach, the kits come across as lively and musical. It is particularly exciting that selected instruments were played by two drummers at the same time. Small timing differences and natural flams provide depth and movement without the sound becoming uncontrolled. It feels human and not programmed.

Ready to mix from the first beat

Dry EZX provides several mixer presets for each kit that work straight away. Saturation, compression and EQ are tuned so that the drums come through clearly while still leaving room for the rest of the arrangement. You get different sonic approaches, from very dry and direct to a little rounder and denser, all without a lot of tweaking.

Grooves with attitude

The sound is accompanied by a selection of MIDI grooves and fills by Thomas Hedlund. The patterns are deliberately song-oriented and show how the special articulations of the kits can be used musically. Of course, all grooves can be adjusted in detail or dragged and dropped directly into your DAW.

For modern productions without detours
