The Fame Handpan Five C-Lake is a hand-tuned stainless steel handpan with an Aztec Gold finish, tuned to a C major diatonic scale. This instrument fulfills a dream for many children and teachers. The diatonic C major scale makes it easy to play a wide range of songs and melodies, all with the unmistakable, enchanting sound of the handpan. It is a perfect companion to instruments like the kalimba, ukulele, recorder, and glockenspiel.
Featuring nine tones, the handpan produces a balanced and powerful sound at 440 Hz. The Fame handpan is played by striking its individually tuned tone fields with the fingers. With a diameter of 22 inches or 54 centimeters, it sits comfortably on the lap for relaxed playing. The C major tuning includes the notes G3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4, B4, and C5. The central keynote lies in the middle of the handpan, surrounded by a circle of carefully tuned tone fields. Each playing surface is shaped under tension and hand-tuned to 440 Hz. When tapped lightly with a finger, the entire handpan vibrates, producing a smooth, spherical tone with a singing sustain.
Every Fame handpan undergoes thorough quality checks for craftsmanship and sound by experienced handpan experts at the production facility. As these instruments are handmade, slight color variations from the product images may occur.

Playing the handpan is relatively simple to learn. The playing surface is tapped briefly with the fingertip, and the quicker the hand is lifted afterward, the more beautiful the sound produced. Fame Handpan Five C-LakeAt a more affordable price than most handpans its good for those with lower budgets and interested beginners however the quality is excellent so shouldn't put off professional players either. Comes with a good bag, one review mentioned the shoulder straps were too short to wear as a rucksack however I found it fits fine and at 6" reckon it would fit most people fine. Overall a great product.
As a person who has played percussion foe 32 years this is a beautiful made instrument with very hipnotic sounds, once you start playing either tunes or rtythms you, ll never want to put it down.
The sound and tone is excellent, very easy to pick up and play quickly without prior experience.
I picked it up very quickly, looks beautiful also. The only knock is the back pack carry case it comes with, the back straps are not long enough to be at all useable, you can't actually use it and have to hold the handle to carry it. Apart from that, all excellent, there were a few slight marks to the finish, but overal that makes no difference to the tone
