The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue Washed Cherry Sunburst is a historically accurate reissue of the first "'Burst" model and convinces accordingly with the authentic feel and sound of an end-50s electric guitar. Following the tradition the Gibson Custom Shop uses a mahogany body with maple top and a set mahogany neck with a more powerful "Chunky C-Shape". With two Gibson Custombucker pickups and the handwired circuit, the electric guitar furthermore delivers first-class vintage sounds, whose character is hardly distinguishable from the legendary PAFs. Last but not least, the 1958 Les Paul Standard Washed Cherry Sunburst by Gibson features authentic Hardware in the form of No-Wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece and Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners.
The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue Washed Cherry Sunburst recreates in detail the look, feel and sound of the first sunburst Les Pauls.
The mahogany neck of the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue is glued to the one-piece body with hide-glue and long neck foot.

Built using traditional methods, the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue impresses with the feel and sound of the legendary "Holy Grails". Accordingly, the Gibson Custom Shop relies on a one-piece mahogany body with correct plain maple top, while the mahogany neck is glued to a long neck base and carries an Indian rosewood fretboard. The use of glasharten Hide-Glues guarantees the optimal sound development over the entire instrument. Furthermore, the strong "Chunky C-Shape" neck profile together with the 12" fingerboard radius and the narrow frets provide the authentic playing feel.
The two Gibson Custombuckers of the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue are managed by the classic 3-way circuit with authentic oil paper capacitors.
Gibson Custombuckers for authentic PAF sounds
For the pickup of the 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue Washed Cherry Sunburst the luthiers of Gibson Custom Shop rely on two Gibson Custombuckers, which prove to be authentic replicas of the legendary PAF-Humbucker with Alnico III magnets and unwaxed coils. Accordingly, a lively acting Vintage-Sound is available at the guitar amplifier, which skillfully converts both clean and distorted songs of blues, jazz or rock with velvety basses, vocally singing mids and an airy treble spectrum. The pickups are also controlled via CTS's classic 3-way switching with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup. Authentic oil paper capacitors promise furthermore particularly smooth reductions of the treble spectrum.
Six Kluson Vintage-Style machine heads with authentic single-line barrels and single-ring pianos guarantee precise and stable tuning.
Hardware in authentic vintage style
High-quality hardware in authentic vintage style completes the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue Washed Cherry Sunburst. On the body, for example, the combination of a Gibson No-Wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and an aluminum stopbar tailpiece established by Ted McCarty is used, which guarantees not only optimal intonation but also an easily playable string action. Behind the historically correct nylon s addle, the strings on the headstock are also held by Kluson tuners with authentic single-ring pianos.
