With the Ibanez Prestige SRMS5-WK Weathered Black Ibanez expands the Prestige series with a top-class Soundgear Bass in trendy multiscale construction. The Japanese-built five-stringer not only offers the usual agile playing characteristics of the design that has become a modern classic, but also promises a particularly tight sound due to the scales of each string measuring between 34" and 35.5", which also represents low notes precisely and powerfully. Construction-wise Ibanez relies for the Prestige Soundgear SRMS5 on an ash body and a five-piece screw neck made of wenge and walnut, while Nordstrand Big SplitCustom pickups and an active 3-Band-Equalizer are responsible for the electrical sound conversion. Naturally Ibanez completes the Prestige SRMS5-WK Weathered BlackBass with high-quality Hardware in the form of five MR5S mono-rail bridges and precise Gotoh bass machine heads.

The design of the Prestige Soundgear SRMS5 Bass pays special attention to the ideal combination of a tight sound and optimal playing characteristics. While the ergonomically designed ash body sits comfortably and perfectly balanced on the body, the bolt-on, five-piece wenge walnut neck lets any tricky Bassline out of the hand with ease thanks to the flat "SRMS5" profile with just 19.5 mm of wood under the first fret. Individually sized scales, rising from 34" on the G-string (864 mm) to 35.5" on the B-string (902 mm), also guarantee a tight sound that presents every note with rich pressure and detailed articulation.

As pickup for the Prestige SRMS5 Multiscale Soundgear Bass Ibanez chooses two passive Nordstrand Big SplitCustom pickups. Under the classic soapbar housings hide two powerful split-coil humbuckers with Alnico magnets and two diagonally arranged pole pieces for each string, which elicit extremely powerful sounds from the bass amplifier with a harmonious balance of lows and highs, where even the low B-string comes out perfectly with precise articulation. And to be able to adjust the sound character precisely, Ibanez also equips the 5-string Bass with an active Custom Electronics 3-band tone control, which comes up with three selectable center frequencies for the mid control. Thanks to the EQ bypass switch, the Bass can also be played passively, with the treble pot becoming a traditional treble control.
The headstock of the SRMS5 Multiscale Soundgear carries precise and tuning stable Gotoh tuners.

Last but not least, high-quality attachments that also meet professional demands for functionality and reliability complete the Prestige SRMS5-WK Weathered BlackE-Bass by Ibanez. Five Ibanez MR5S mono rails serve as tailpieces on the body. Due to the three-dimensional adjustment possibilities, the single rails not only guarantee exact intonation and comfortable string position, but also a string spacing that can be adjusted to one's own ideas within certain limits. At the headstock, Gotoh bass machine heads also hold the 5-string Bass securely and precisely in the correct tuning.
