The EMG Jim Root JR “Daemonum” set is based on Jim Root’s many years of experience with the legendary EMG-81/60 combination. Through numerous test iterations, EMG and the Slipknot guitarist have developed a humbucker set that combines the uncompromising punch and precision of classic EMG models with the enhanced dynamics and versatility of the Retro-Active series. The neck pickup features ceramic pole pieces and delivers an articulate sound with clear highs and precise response, whilst the bridge pickup provides tight riffs, aggressive mids and the characteristic high-gain foundation of modern metal sounds. Specially developed Retro-Active preamps give both pickups additional expressiveness and a particularly direct playing feel. The Daemonum set is therefore aimed at guitarists seeking powerful nu-metal sounds with high dynamics and definition.
