The Manfrotto 1004BAC Stand Master Light Stand is an aluminium light stand, featuring three booms, a 9kg capacity, a 3.66m max height, and an overall weight of 2.15kg. This is a 4-section-3-risers stand with a maximum load of up to 9kg (19.84lb). Manfrotto 1004BAC stands connect to each other for easy transportation, and an air cushioning protects fingers and mounted equipment. A wide footprint of 106cm allows for great stability.

Something that wasn't mentioned in the product description is that these mic stands inter-lock (and can be released with the push of a button), which makes it easy to carry several at once in one hand.
The fit and finish is all excellent, and the included adaters to go to 3/8" thread (for mic clips etc) make life very easy.
I have tested these stands a little at the workshop, and look forward to deploying them for my up-coming classical recordings.
I bought the Manfrotto 1004BAC stands as a cover-all to replace my 1052BAC and larger heavy stands. The 1004BAC are noticeably heavier, but you expect that when they reach over 3.6m tall! I am hoping that these will be all I need for any situation now. I love the way they clamp together, which makes transporting them in their bag easy and hassle free - something important to me. I hate juggling stands on location!
