With the TC Electronic BAM200, the Danish effects manufacturer sends an extremely compact bass top into the race, which proves to be the ideal companion for frequently traveling bassists with its low weight, compact format and first-class sound. While the modern Class D power amplifier with up to 200 watts of power provides sufficient power reserves for recording studio and small gigs, the preamplifier built in MOSFET technology convinces with a particularly harmonious sound, which is clearly oriented in playing feel and response to large tube amps. To adjust the sound, a classic 3-band tone control is available. In addition to a balanced DI output for direct connection to audio interfaces or mixing consoles, the TC Electronic BAM200 also offers a headphone jack with speaker simulation for practicing.
Solid build, great sound quality, plenty of volume and so small in size. A great practice amp and will be used as a back up amp, all at a bargain price.
I’ve got this as a backup amp in case my main amp ever fails, but also using it as a home/practice setup with a spare speaker.
If you’re looking for a small, portable, no-frills amp then this has to be the best value buy.
Great clean sound, and nice tone section. Seems very solidly built.
I wanted something small to use with a 1x15 to make a portable home use / small rig and this seemed to tick the boxes, as well as being the cheapest in it's class. It definitely delivers.
Sound-wise it's a little bit anaemic. It's essentially a DI with an EQ and a power amp so don't expect too much. Nevertheless it's decent enough and would get you through a gig if your main amp crapped out on you. I always planned to put a Sansamp in front of it anyway so it isn't an issue. It's plenty loud enough for home use although I imagine it would struggle to keep up with a hard hitting drummer, particularly with an 8 ohm load.
It is however built like a tank. It's very solid and not much bigger than a 1590BB so it's going to fit in a gig bag no problem.
I will definitely get another if it gets lost / stolen dies etc
