Mobile keyboard feeling for spontaneous ideas, stage and creative music-making on the go
The Yamaha Reface CP follows in the best tradition of the unique stage keyboards of the 1970s. The reduced user interface of the Reface CP allows intuitive access to the vintage sounds and vintage effects of the combo piano. The vintage keyboard types of the Reface CP combine with selected Drive and Tremolo settings to create an authentic sound experience. The Reface CP is a robust mini piano with miniaturized keys and battery operation. It has internal speakers and five directly controllable effects in the style of floor effect units.
Yamaha Reface CP - Vintage Sounds
The Reface CP offers six impressively detailed Vintage keyboard types. Selected Drive and Tremolo settings combine the Vintage sounds to create an authentic sound experience. A 128-voice polyphony ensures uninterrupted playing, even with Sustain pedal.
The six keyboard types are:
RdI - Electric Piano from the early 70s
RdII - Electric piano from the late 70s
Wr - Classic electric piano from the late 60s
Clv - Typical clavinet sound
Toy - Vintage Toy Piano
CP - Yamaha CP80 Grand Piano
The Vintage effects of the Reface CP
The first-class Vintage sounds of the Reface CP are complemented by five effects in the style of floor effects units with direct control. In addition to Drive (adds harmonics and distortion), there is Tremolo respectively Auto-Pan or VCM Wah with adjustable intensity and speed, as well as Chorus, VCM Phaser, Digital or Analog-Type Delay with adjustable time and intensity and Reverb with adjustable intensity.
Mini, mobile & robust
With the Reface Mobile Mini Keyboards, Yamaha presents four ultra-compact instruments based on legendary sound generators that really come into their own on the road, on stage and in the studio. Reface is perfect for all songwriters, sound designers, stage keyboardists - and for anyone who wants to have their source of musical inspiration with them at all times. With battery operation and an (even really good-sounding) integrated stereo speaker system, the reface quartet is always ready to play. The workmanship of the keyboard, housing and controls is significantly better than you would expect from a Mini Synthesizer.
Rated "GOOD" by Delamar Download Yamaha Reface CP review
Excerpt: The Yamaha Reface CP is a digital electric piano for mobile musicians - it is very small, light enough for convenient transportation and can be operated with batteries. With six convincing electric piano emulations as well as effects such as overdrive, tremolo, Chorus & Co. it is very versatile. Operation couldn't be simpler or more direct. Anyone who can cope with the naturally very small keys will find a sonic grab bag for pop, rock, House and more.
The EP and CP80 sounds on this little powerhouse are about the best you're going to find anywhere other than on the authentic models themselves. They're excellent.
The build quality is very satisfying and unlike other keyboards of the same price range, you get the feeling with the Reface CP that much care and attention was given to its craftsmanship.
The mini keys and 3-octave range are either sufficient or frustrating depending on your point of view.
Portability of quality sounds is what this keyboard is really all about and that's the only real reason you should consider purchasing this model over a full-size keyboard: in this respect, the Reface CP excels.
Delivery was late which I find unacceptable as this is often an important consideration when ordering from one company over another. The keyboard itself is brilliant however. A battery powered mini keyboard should not play or sound this good. Awesome.
If you are mostly interested in well simulated 60's and 70's electric keyboard , need a sturdy midi keyboard with good connetions and portability, this instrument could fulfill your needs. If you need a cool little keyboard as a side instrument with no-hassle buttons and controls for dawless audio system and looping, just give it a go. Players with big hands may find the keys a bit small to play at first, but that's a feature of this instrument.
