The Korg Kross 2 -88 MB is a compact, portable synthesiser workstation featuring an 88-key hammer-action keyboard. It offers a wide selection of preset sounds and effects, as well as a built-in audio player/recorder and a sampler. It also includes a vocoder and a step sequencer with up to 64 steps, as well as a built-in USB audio interface. A special feature is that the Korg Kross 2 can also be powered by batteries, enabling unrestricted mobility when making music.
MB – matt black: thanks to its matt black finish and rubberised surface, the Kross -2 -88 MB looks both sleek and elegant, giving a high-quality impression. The built-in NH keyboard features a naturally weighted hammer action. The lower notes are weighted more heavily than the higher ones, offering a pleasant, more natural playing experience. Despite its excellent keyboard, the instrument is light enough not to be a ‘burden’ when used on stage.
The Korg Kross 2 workstation features 1,280 different sounds. These include multi-layer pianos, electric pianos, rich strings and new drum kits that work perfectly with any band. The effects section has also been expanded. It allows the simultaneous use of up to seven effects: five insert effects and two master effects. A total of 134 effect types are available.
With the Korg Kross 2’s integrated stereo audio recorder, you can record your performances or add overdubs to an external source such as vocals. Recorded sounds or imported audio files can be assigned to one of the 16 pads for playback using the Pad Audio Play function. You can strike a pad to play back accompaniment for your own live performance or to trigger sound effects.
The step sequencer on the Korg Kross 2 synthesiser workstation allows you to record sequences of up to 64 steps. This enables you to quickly programme your own rhythm patterns or melodic sequences.
The USB audio interface allows you to connect the Korg Kross 2 to your Mac or Windows computer for DAW recording, or to play it with your iPad and iPhone. It is also possible to use the Korg Modules app with the Kross 2. Also available are the Kross 2 Editor and the Plug-In Editor. These allow you to modify multiple parameters simultaneously on your computer or use the Korg Kross 2 as a software synthesiser within a DAW.
