With the Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS20 Sonic Blue, the Japanese company presents the latest Generation of the popular Double Cut electric guitar in café racer style. Inspired by sporty tuned motorcycles, the Revstar Standard RSS20 comes in a beautiful modern Retro design, which is complemented by contemporary appointments such as stainless steel frets and Alnico V humbuckers with flexible sound options. Yamaha also uses a mahogany body with strategically placed resonance chambers and a maple top, as well as a graphite-reinforced mahogany neck. Traditional Hardware in the form of a Tune-O-Matic bridge with Stopbar tailpiece and precise die-cast tuners complete the Revstar Standard RSS20 Sonic Blue electric guitar from Yamaha.
Mahogany guitar with innovative construction
In the construction of the Revstar Standard RSS20 guitar, Yamaha combines the traditional set-neck design with a number of innovative details that promise a lively sound character. Accordingly, the mahogany body is not only fitted with a maple top , but also with carefully placed sound chambers to achieve maximum resonance development and a powerful sound. The glued, three-piece mahogany neck is also reinforced by inlaid carbon rods and offers first-class playing characteristics with its pleasantly strong C-profile and the satin-finished back of the neck. The rosewood fingerboard also features almost wear-resistant stainless steel frets in jumbo format, creating the best conditions for buttery-smooth bendings that glide like on rails.
Alnico V humbucker with Focus Switch
Yamaha has chosen two VH5 humbuckers as the pickups for the Revstar Standard RSS20 electric guitar. Equipped with Alnico V magnets, the pickups impress with a powerful sound that elicits full-bodied cleans and juicy Overdrive for crisp licks or powerful riffing from the guitar amplifier. The pickups are controlled via a flexible 5-way circuit that calls up the pickups in different combinations and thus provides a wide range of tonal colors. Yamaha also equips the Revstar Standard RSS20 Sonic Blue with the innovative Focus Switch, which uses the Push/Pull switch in the Tone control to create a passive "boost" with the sharp sound character of hot overwound pickups.
Traditional hardware equipment
Last but not least, Yamaha completes the equipment of the Revstar Standard RSS20 Sonic Blue with high-quality Hardware in the classic style, which also meets professional requirements without any problems. The strings are guided from the stopbar tailpiece via a Tune-O-Matic bridge, which guarantees optimum intonation and string action thanks to the six string saddle with generous adjustment travel. Die-cast tuners with elegant vintage-style plastic wings on the distinctive Revstar headstock also ensure precise tuning with a high degree of stability.
