With the Storm Drums Mapex offers beginner drums with upmarket equipment, which, typical for Mapex, do not have to shy away from comparison with significantly more expensive drum series. New features make it easy for beginners to tickle a professional sound from their shooting range. On the outside, the Mapex Storm drums have a lot to offer with new finishes and hardware options. True to the motto "More drums für´s Money" the Mapex Storm drums can convince both tonally and visually.
Just like the Saturn high-end drum series, the Storm Drums also feature the SONIClear boiler burr. The strongly rounded burr increases the contact between the skin and the boiler and thus ensures a better transmission of the vibrations from the skin to the boiler. The result is not only a very warm, focused and powerful sound; the SONIClear boiler burring also makes tuning the drums child's play.
The toms of the Storm drums come in the popular "Flat Sizes", so they are much flatter than conventional drums. This provides a very attack-rich and defined sound that doesn't get lost even at 240 bpm blast beats. The poplar wood boilers provide harmonious overtones and a pronounced midrange, which is well established in the complete mix.
All Storm drum kits come with a comprehensive hardware package. The cymbal stands have a base with double braced legs, 3 single tubes allow a flexible positioning of the cymbals. All stands come with a new concave leg design, which makes it easier to place the stands in the setup. All hardware components of the Storm Sets are also available separately, each available in chrome or black coated.
