Walrus Audio Ages Five-State Overdrive

The Walrus Audio Ages turns out to be an extremely solid platform for overdrive sounds of any color and intensity. With five different gain stages, dry control for continuously variable mixing of the dry signal and an additional 2-band equalizer, the Ages is not only perfectly suitable on its own but also in combination with other overdrive pedals and offers an extremely versatile sound. Modes 1 and 2 offer gently distorting low-gain drives with balanced silicon or LED clipping, while Modes 3 and 4 produce powerful soft clipping high-gain. Mode 5 features a highly compressive Silicon Hard Clipping Drive that gives even the cleanest amps the necessary amount of grit. In order to sound clear and transparent even on the hardest gain settings, the Bass Boost/Cut is applied before the gain stages, allowing undesired low frequencies in the signal to be filtered out before the drive.
