The elysia mpressor² qube is a discrete Class-A compressor for installation in a 500 mm rack. It combines outstanding sound quality with enormous punch and a full and detailed sound. Extreme time constants, negative ratios, anti log release and elysia's innovative gain reduction limiter open up a complete spectrum of unique possibilities. A new feature of the 500 module is the THD Boost, which boosts the signal level before the control amplifier. This creates harmonics in the input stage of the amplifier and significantly changes the sound structure.
In this elysia mpressor² qube version you get 2 channels of the successful mpressor. The members of the elysia qube series are delivered in a specially manufactured, transportable lunchbox case. However, this housing is only suitable for the elysia qube products!
A high end and high quality class A compressor, (negative ?) expand and shaper. I use it in a studio with a lot of old mix hardware built around an A&H analogue 8 bus. This unit takes a little getting used to. Number 1 its very quiet and doesn't have a particular sound as such, however when engaged it pulls up the signal and allows you to shape it. The GRL is the best bit - so you can compress like shit then reduce the affect. Its also works in mastering when just being tickled.Anyway, ive had a few Elysia products over the years - I didn't like the sound of their EQ (the rack was much better) or the envelope. This unit is very cool - and very creative, you'll need to work out where to put it in your studio and also what to pair it with. Good stuff. So glad we left the EU and no buying from DV in Romford.
