The Hagstrom Ultra Max Special Gylden Burst expands the successful Ultra Max line-up of the traditional Swedish company and a particularly flexible electric guitar, which turns out to be an absolute all-rounder for almost any music style. Two full-sized Lundgren-design humbuckers at neck and bridge and the Hagstrom mini humbucker in middle position deliver a rich sound thanks to the sophisticated 5-way switching, which includes fat humbucker sounds for Blues and rock as well as sparkling single-coil tones. While the mahogany body of the Ultra Max Special features a beautiful flamed maple top, the "Slim D" profile of the glued mahogany neck offers best conditions for a comfortable playability. Last but not least, a Sustain block tailpiece, a Tune-O-Matic bridge and precise die-cast tuners complete the Ultra Max Special Gylden Burst electric guitar by Hagstrom.

Agile Singlecut Guitar with long scale length
For the construction of the Ultra Max Special Hagstrom relies on the classic set-neck design with 25.5" scale length (648 mm), which promises a tight sound due to the higher string tension. While the mahogany body has a curly maple top with elegant grain, the glued mahogany neck naturally comes with the H-Expander tension rod that is common for Hagstrom guitars. The slim "Slim D" neck profile also promises agile playing characteristics from the highest to the lowest position of the Resinator Wood fingerboard.
Two Lundgren Design Alnico humbuckers and a Hagstrom Mini humbucker combine with the 5-way circuit to provide versatile guitar tones.
Flexible pickup setup
To achieve a particularly flexible sound with all-round qualities, Hagstrom equips the Ultra Max Special with three humbuckers and an inventive circuit. On the neck and bridge, Lundgren Design Alnico humbuckers provide fat sounds with an accentuated midrange spectrum, while the Hagstrom H-52 mini humbucker in the middle offers a brilliant sound and lively dynamics. The sophisticated 5-way circuit with Auto-Coil-Split in positions 2 and 4 allows you to call up multifaceted timbres. The tone control also works as a bass cut, which, if desired, takes the low frequencies out of the signal and thus allows the precise adjustment of the sound.
With the precise 15:1 ratio, the Hagstrom Die-Cast tuners guarantee an exact and stable tuning of the Ultra Max Special.
Indestructible Hagstrom Hardware
Last but not least, the Hagstrom Ultra Max Special Gylden Burst comes with high-quality and reliable hardware. The tailpiece on the body is the Hagstrom Sustain Block Tailpiece with six individual brass blocks, from which the strings are fed via the Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge. At the headstock, Hagstrom tuners with 15:1 ratio promise an exact and robust tuning of the Ultra Max Special electric guitar.
