With the Jackson Pro Series soloist SL7Q Alien Burst, the guitar manufacturer from sunny California proves once again why it has been at the forefront of the hard'n'heavy scene for more than 30 years. The 7-string electric guitar with extended range, hot Seymour Duncan humbuckers and Floyd Rose tremolo is aimed at the modern shredder, which finds the perfect race track for riffs and solos at breathtaking speed in the continuous "Speed Neck" maple neck. At the same time, the chic cloud maple top on the typical soloist mahogany body turns out to be an absolute eye-catcher on every stage.
When designing the Jackson Pro Series Soloist SL7Q seven-string instrument, Jackson pays particular attention to unimpeded playability across all strings and positions. The heart of this is undoubtedly the continuous neck made of maple, which is reinforced by graphite inlays. With its flat "Speed Neck" profile and the ebony fingerboard with compound radius, it offers the ideal basis for virtuoso electric guitar playing over all seven strings. In combination with the glued mahogany body wings, the neck also provides a precise, appealing sound that also reproduces the low H-string cleanly. A visual highlight is the chic cloud maple top, which is perfectly staged by the Alien Burst Finish.
The electrical sound conversion of the Jackson Pro Series Soloist SL7 is done by the Seymour Duncan "Distortion Mayhem" set in the seven-string version, which is not considered to be the benchmark for hot metal sounds for nothing. The Seymour Duncan SH-6b 7s convinces with its hot, yet differentiated sound, which precisely displays riffs with precise attack even on the low H-string and lets solos cut through the band sound. The Seymour Duncan SH-6n 7s on the neck on the other hand convinces with its warm sound, which offers a creamy solo sound with endless sustain in case of distortion and convinces in the clean channel with bell-like response and perfect string separation. The 5-way blade switch allows the pickups to be called up in different circuits, so that versatile tones are available on the amplifier.
As befits a real metal axe, the Jackson Pro Series Soloist SL7 is also equipped with a double locking tremolo in the form of the Floyd Rose FRT-SSO2000 system. Due to its special construction it takes even the most aggressive Whammy Bar actions without the guitar getting out of tune. The headstock in the typically aggressive Jackson design also features precision die-cast mechanisms.
