Software Download Licenses

Important Information about Download Licenses

Through our download portal, you can easily access your new programs and plug-ins after purchasing a download license. Immediately after your payment has been processed, you’ll receive an email containing a license code that allows you to download or activate the software right away. The exact process depends on the manufacturer. In some cases, the download occurs through the manufacturer’s customer account before activation using the code provided by us.

If you’ve purchased a large sample library such as Native Instruments Komplete, a DAW like Cubase or Studio One, a powerful synthesizer like Omnisphere, or an AI-driven mastering tool such as Ozone, please expect a longer download time. Large content packages often include several gigabytes of data. Alternatively, you can choose a boxed version that ships on physical media and doesn’t require an internet connection for installation.

FAQ – Download Licenses

How does a download license differ from a boxed or hardware version?

A download license is a digital version of software that you can download and activate online immediately after purchase. It functions the same as a boxed or hardware version but offers several advantages:

  • Instant availability: The license code is sent right after purchase.
  • No shipping: No delivery time or physical media required.
  • Environmentally friendly: No packaging or disc production needed.
How and where will I receive my license key after purchase?

After your purchase is completed, you’ll receive the license key via email. This includes either:

  • a redemption code for immediate activation after download, or
  • a link to the manufacturer’s website for registration and activation.

Depending on the manufacturer, you may need to create a customer account or use a license manager (e.g., iLok, Steinberg Activation Manager, Native Access). Detailed instructions are included in your confirmation email.

Do I have to download the software immediately after purchase?

No. The license key remains valid indefinitely and can be redeemed later. Many manufacturers allow you to re-download installation files anytime through your account or a download link.

Can I transfer my software license to another computer?

Usually yes. You’ll need to deactivate the license on the old device and reactivate it on the new one. The process varies depending on the manufacturer and may be completed within the software, a license manager, or your online account.

Do I need an internet connection for activation or use?

An internet connection is typically required for initial activation to verify the license key. Many applications can be used offline afterward. However, some programs or plug-ins require periodic online validation or cloud-based login. Always review system and license requirements before purchase, especially if you work without a stable connection.

Can I resell or transfer a purchased license?

This depends on the manufacturer. Many allow resale or license transfer if the product is properly deactivated and unregistered. Some, however, issue non-transferable licenses, such as educational or promotional versions. Check the manufacturer’s license policy before buying.

Are there differences between demo, educational, and full licenses?
  • Full version: All features included, no restrictions.
  • Demo version: Time-limited or feature-limited for trial use.
  • Educational (EDU) version: Same features as the full version but offered at a discounted price for students, teachers, or educational institutions. Proof of eligibility is required.
