The Jackson JS Series Spectra Bass JS2 Quicksilver impresses with excellent playability and a versatile tonal range at an extremely attractive price. Here, Jackson has opted for a poplar body in an offset design, which, with an extended upper body horn, promises perfect balance on a strap, whilst the bolt-on maple neck with its slim “C”-profile offers smooth playability across all 24 frets of the laurel fingerboard. With a Jackson J-style single-coil pickup at the bridge and a P-style split-coil pickup in the middle position, controlled via volume and blend controls, this four-string bass also delivers a particularly versatile range of tones. Furthermore, the Jackson Spectra Bass features an active bass boost, which emphasises the low-end foundation when desired and can be switched off using the push/pull switch in the volume control.
