RCF's beginnings date back to the first half of the 20th century: in 1949, a company was founded in Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, specialising in the manufacture of ribbon microphones and loudspeakers. A short time later, the business was expanded to include other PA solutions.
The know-how and high manufacturing quality of RCF products did not go unnoticed by large international companies in the audio industry: When the demand for high-performance transducers increased worldwide in the 1960s, RCF was able to deliver. As one of the first companies in Europe, the Italian sound specialists secured corresponding OEM orders for renowned brands, including from the USA.
In the following decades, RCF successively expanded its portfolio to include further segments: from speakers and amplifiers in the hi-fi sector in the 1970s, to car speakers in the following decade, to pro-audio and PA speakers, which were also marketed under the RCF brand from the 1990s. Today, the term RCF loudspeaker is virtually synonymous with excellent sound, first-class workmanship and an attractive price/performance ratio.

RCF has always been committed to managing research, development and manufacturing under one roof. RCF manufactures all central components in its own factory in Italy - from the voice coils for the transducers to software solutions. It goes without saying that only the latest production methods are used. This comprehensive in-house principle results in a high degree of control, not only over the individual production steps, but ultimately also over the quality: all RCF products are the result of constant further development and optimisation.
In 2010, the company finally launched the RCF Audio Academy: an educational project in which RCF professionals share their knowledge and expertise in audio with learners from all over the world. In 2017, the project was expanded once again, including the addition of a new demo system.
Throughout its history, RCF has developed numerous products that have left a lasting mark on the PA and pro audio landscape, including loudspeakers, subwoofers, line arrays and more. Among the best-known product lines are:
