The Sonnet xMac Studio / Echo II DV Rackmount System expands the Mac Studio’s capabilities with professional PCIe options and securely integrates it into a robust 3U rack enclosure. The combination of the rackmount system and the pre-installed Echo II DV T5 module is designed for audio, video and broadcast applications where high-performance PCIe cards are essential. This transforms the compact Mac Studio into a versatile production hub for the studio, control room or mobile rack deployment.

Two PCIe slots with full Thunderbolt 5 performance

The integrated Echo II DV T5 module provides two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and supplies each installed card with up to 6000 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth via its own Thunderbolt 5 connection. This allows even particularly demanding PCIe cards to be operated without bandwidth bottlenecks. Full-height, full-length and single-width cards are supported, provided they are Thunderbolt-compatible and are not GPUs. This makes the system suitable for, amongst other things, audio DSP cards, video capture cards or professional I/O solutions.

Convenient for everyday studio use

The Mac Studio remains easily accessible at all times. The power switch, USB ports and SD card reader can be accessed directly from the front panel. In addition, four USB-A ports are available via the integrated USB hub. The PCIe module can also be removed from the front without tools, allowing expansion cards to be quickly installed or replaced.

Designed for continuous operation

The case supports the Mac Studio’s original cooling design and ensures that fresh air can be drawn in unhindered and warm air can be expelled at the rear. Two temperature-controlled Noctua fans operate particularly quietly and reliably maintain both the computer and the expansion module at operating temperature. The integrated 400-watt power supply also supports more powerful PCIe cards and switches on and off automatically in tandem with the Mac Studio.

Thoughtfully designed down to the last detail

Beneath the Mac Studio, there is additional space for two Thunderbolt or USB SSDs, which can be securely attached using the magnets provided. All ports remain accessible at all times, so cables can be connected or swapped without removing the computer from its enclosure. The sturdy steel construction with secure fastenings also makes the system an ideal solution for transport in mobile racks.

Whether it’s Pro Tools HDX, video capture or specialised I/O cards, the Sonnet xMac Studio / Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 Pro Rackmount System provides the foundation for high-performance production environments.
