D'Addario XTPB024 Single String

The D’Addario XTPB024 single string for electric and acoustic guitars is ideal as a replacement string and features a microscopically thin, moisture-repellent coating that does not affect the tone or playing feel. The new, improved coating process preserves the feel of fresh strings, which last at least three times longer. Made from ‘High Carbon New York Steel’, the XT strings offer greater tensile strength and tuning stability.

In 1974, D’Addario first used phosphor bronze in string manufacturing. During the finishing process, phosphorus is added to the bronze whilst it is in a molten state, making the strings slightly harder than bronze strings. They are generally more durable, as phosphorus also offers protection against corrosion.

From the production of the base material through to the coating and winding of the strings, everything is manufactured in-house at D’Addario’s own factory.
