The Typhon from Dreadbox is a compact analog synthesizer with effects, memory and sequencer. The two oscillators generate the classic waveforms triangle, square and sawtooth and even offer a special FM mode. Thus, the Dreadbox Typhon already covers all basic sounds and some beyond. The rich sound spectrum gets the final touch with the resonant 24dB lowpass filter. For further sound refinement or processing, there is a high-resolution effects processor with 32 bit/96 kHz, in which the FX specialists from SINEVIBES have participated. Five different distortion algorithms, a bitcrusher, chorus, ensemble, flanger, reverb and two delays.
Sport program for stiff sounds
Besides the two ADSR envelopes there are three modulators in the Typhon, these can each be an LFO, envelope, random generator or a step sequencer and can be flexibly applied to all parameters including those of the effects processor. A monophonic step sequencer is also on board, which stores up to 32 steps per pattern.
Additional features
You can record your creative creations on 254 memory locations. The Typhon's comprehensive MIDI implementation also contributes to better interaction with a DAW, for example. The external audio input turns the desktop unit into a modulation-friendly filter box complete with effects. Since the Dreadbox Typhon draws its power via USB, even location-independent operation is possible using a 20,000 mA power bank for up to 30 hours.
