With special attention to a lively and finely articulated sound with musical warmth, Paul Reed Smith chooses only high quality woods for the PRS Paul's Guitar. Accordingly, this electric guitar features a mahogany body with a solid flamed maple top and a glued mahogany neck with a fretboard of Honduran rosewood, in which elegant brushstroke-bird inlays mark the positions. The gentle "pattern" neck profile with its perfect rounding also ensures optimum playability.
Paul Reed Smith chose two TCI humbuckers for the PRS Paul's Guitar Charcoal Burst. These are optimally tuned to the electric guitar in terms of capacity and inductance (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance, TCI) and deliver a particularly musical and detailed sound image, which skilfully implements every playful nuance in both the clean and overdrive channels. Two mini-switches between the volume and tone controls allow you to individually split the humbuckers, adding glassy single-coil sounds with a brilliant treble spectrum to the sound repertoire.
Last but not least, the optimally matched hardware equipment completes the PRS Paul's Guitar Charcoal Burst. The body is equipped with the proven PRS wraparound stoptail, which uses brass inserts in the compensated string pad to support the finely articulated tone of this electric guitar. Furthermore PRS Phase III tuners on the headstock in the typical PRS design ensure that the tuning of the electric guitar is both precise and stable.
